This policy covers the GKG Recovery web app at gkgrecovery.pryvixlabs.com, the Android app and the Windows app. The optional pastor messaging feature described below is currently available only in the web app. The Android and Windows apps do not include it and do not connect to our messaging service; this policy will be updated before they do.
GKG Recovery stores your journal entries, recorded moods, favorite passages, reading position, daily activities, optional profile and preferences inside the app on your device (in the web app, in your browser's storage for this site). We do not receive this information. The only exception is optional pastor messaging, if you choose to use it.
The app contains no advertising, analytics, cloud sync or remote Bible API. All included Bible texts and reflections ship with the app. The Android app does not request internet, contacts, location, camera or microphone permission. The Windows app does not connect to the internet.
If your pastor or recovery leader gives you a GKG Recovery code, you can connect with them on the Message Pastor / Leader screen and exchange text messages. Using it is optional; the rest of the app keeps working offline. It is for adults only: you must confirm you are 18 or older to connect.
What we receive from you: the nickname you choose (no email address, phone number or real name is needed); a random identifier your browser creates, of which we store only a one-way hash; the time you confirmed you are 18 or older; the code you entered and your connection status; and the messages you send and receive, with when they were sent and read. To prevent abuse, such as too many code attempts, we use your IP address briefly. We store only a keyed one-way fingerprint of it, which is deleted within 24 hours.
From pastors and leaders: name, email address and optional church or group name, used to sign in by emailed link and to show members who they are connecting with. Members never see a pastor's email address.
Who can read messages: only you and the pastor you connected with. Your pastor sees your nickname and messages, and nothing else from your app: not your journal, moods, reading or profile. Your pastor must approve your connection before any messages can be sent.
Security: messages travel over encrypted HTTPS connections and are stored encrypted (AES-256). This is not end-to-end encryption: our service decrypts each message to deliver it, and PryvixLabs, LLC could access stored messages if required, for example to comply with law or to investigate abuse. We do not read, sell or share your messages, and we do not use them for advertising or for training AI.
Retention and deletion: messages are deleted automatically 90 days after they are sent. When either you or your pastor ends the connection, the whole conversation is deleted for both of you. A record that the connection existed, without messages, is removed 30 days later. You can delete all of your messaging data at any time from the Message Pastor / Leader screen. Pastors can delete their account and all of its conversations from their dashboard. Deleted data may remain in encrypted service backups for up to 7 days before it is gone for good. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes your connection from this device.
Service providers: messaging runs on Cloudflare (hosting and database, United States), and pastor sign-in emails are also sent through Cloudflare (Email Sending). Cloudflare processes this data only to provide the service for us.
Not an emergency service. Messages are not monitored and may not be read right away. If you are in danger, call 911. For a mental-health, suicide or substance-use crisis, call or text 988.
You can create or restore a backup yourself under Settings → My Data. Exported JSON files are not encrypted by this app, and they do not include pastor messages. On Android, automatic cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for app data. Choose a local folder if you want to keep your backup on the device; the file picker may also offer cloud providers you have enabled.
Delete My Data clears the app's personal records and preferences on your device. It does not delete backup files you exported, so remove those separately. Messaging data is deleted from our service with the separate delete option on the Message Pastor / Leader screen. Uninstalling the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, also removes its local records.
Google Play and the Windows installer deliver app and content updates under their own terms and privacy practices, and they may process store, installation or diagnostic information independently of this app. The web app is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site. We do not upload your journal anywhere.
Opening the store or your email app is an action you choose. If you email support, we receive the information you include and use it to respond. Do not send private journal material unless you intend to share it. Optional donations are not enabled in this version.
Your app data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Your device's own security protects local storage; the app does not add separate journal encryption or a passcode. Protect your device and any backup files. Support correspondence may be retained as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations.
This app provides Scripture reading and general reflection. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition and is not a substitute for professional care. It has no emergency response service. Optional pastor messaging is pastoral support from the person you choose, not counseling or treatment provided by PryvixLabs, LLC.
Pastor messaging is only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect messaging data from children. If you believe a child has used it, contact admin@pryvixlabs.com and we will delete it.
Contact admin@pryvixlabs.com about privacy or support. Changes to app practices will be reflected in the privacy policy and, when necessary, an app update.
